Summary :
COM execution rights are required to execute WMI query and VB script execution during HP Operations Agent installation.

When customer tries to install agent 11.11 on some managed nodes running Windows Server 2008 R2 and he gets the following error:


[ FAIL ] Check if Administrators group have default launch permissions.
Administrators group is not allowed to launch COM applications. COM execution rights are required to
execute WMI query and VB script execution.

Solution
Solution:
  • -  Start-> Run -> dcomcnfg
  • - Drill down to component services->computers->my computer-> right click on my computer and go to properties-> Com Security tab-> select "Launch and Activation Permissions"-> edit default, then select administrators and look if you have all the check boxes checked ( launch, remote launch, local Activation, remote activation). Also do the same with “Launch and Activation Permissions” – Edit Limits
