Summary :
SAP GUI script fails with "Failed to Initialize. Reason: TimeOut" because of insufficient privileges defined in SAP GUI Options.
Problem

When running a test with SAP GUI script the test fails with the following error "Failed to Initialize. Reason: TimeOut"

If the script was replayed on the problematic PC host from VuGen the replay could not continue due to SAP Security pop ups for example:

The system is trying to access the file …
Do you want to grant access to this file?

SAPGui security pop up

Cause
A possible cause could be that the user set to run the magent process (magentproc.exe) and who is logging in the SAP GUI during the test has insufficient privileges defined in SAP GUI Options.
Fix
  1. Run Vugen with the user who is running the magent process during the test, replay the script and check if the replay will be stopped due to SAP GUI pop ups.
  2. Run SAP GUI as the magent process user and verify that the business process can be executed without unexpected pop ups or other issues.
  3. If Security pop ups appear go to SAP GUI Options -> Security Settings and check if the settings are properly defined.
To overcome the pop up shown above the Default Action should be changed from Ask

Ask

to Allow for the objects used in the business process.
